Avoid Identity Theft

With the internet's increased role in our everyday lives, now is a crucial time to ensure that you are protecting yourself against identity theft. Online, a common practice criminals use is called "phishing". This involves tricking the consumer, usually via email, into giving out their personal information, such as passwords, credit card or bank account numbers.

In order to safeguard against these criminals, never give out your account information. Also make sure you use intricate passwords that cannot easily be guessed (avoid using birthdays, phone numbers or your child's name, for example).
